Saudi Arabia strongly denounced the gunfire attack carried out by Israeli forces on a diplomatic delegation of Arab and foreign representatives in the occupied West Bank, the Saudi Press agency reported on Wednesday.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing the Kingdom’s condemnation of Israeli gunfire attack on the delegation that included ambassadors and representatives of Arab and foreign countries during their visit to Jenin Camp in the occupied West Bank.
The Kingdom called on the international community — particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council — to immediately put an end to Israeli violations against civilians, diplomatic missions, and humanitarian organizations operating in the occupied Palestinian territories.
It also reiterated its call for the activation of international accountability mechanisms to counter Israel's ongoing crimes and its repeated violations of international and humanitarian laws.
Media reports said that a group of foreign diplomats from numerous countries, including France and Italy, had to flee for cover during a visit to Jenin after Israeli troops allegedly fired in the air to warn them away.
